I would say consult his physician first considering he has the diabetes. The doctor may be able to suggest or prescribe something for your son. I did come across an article you may be interested in that does discuss various brands of vitamins and nutrients for children as well as other helpful information. You can view the article "Vitamins for Children" at http://nutrition.about.com/od/nutritionforchildren/tp/vitamins_kids.htm

HEllo,
I enjoyed reading your article. I do have a question. My 9 year old has Type 1 diabetes. It has always been a struggle to get him to eat healthy foods and I worry about this a lot.
I do want to place him on Omega 3 supplements, but have been unable to find one that he would take. Do you have any recommendations on specific brands, etc. to try? Thanks so much, Cristy
